  6. after 30 minutes uncover, stir and serve
  7. its important here to NOT open the lid for at least 30 minutes, as it will stop the steaming and rice will not cook through

Feel free to add more or less of either, depending on your heat preferences. Using an ice cream scoop, place a scoop of rice on to the center of the bowlfuls of jambalaya.
