  5. Take Slit Green Chilli
  6. Make ready Green Peas
  7. Prepare Green Capsicum, diced
  8. Take large tomato, finely chopped
  9. Make ready Biryani Masala Powder
  10. Prepare Garam Masala Powder
  11. Get Turmeric Powder
  12. Get Mint leaves or (15-20 leaves)
  13. Make ready Yoghurt (curd) or non dairy yoghurt
  14. Get cooking oil or Ghee(clarified butter)
  15. Make ready water
  16. Take cilantro (coriander leaves)
  17. Get salt,
  18. Take Whole Spices
  19. Prepare cinnamon stick
  20. Prepare cloves
  21. Prepare cumin(Jeera Seeds)
  22. Prepare cardamom
  23. Prepare bay leaves

Saute for a few seconds for the spices to turn aromatic. The flavour compounds in the spices are oil soluble. Soya biryani is a good lunchbox option for both kids and adults. Meal Maker Biryani is the Tastiest biryani you will ever try, the masala is delicious with just the right amount of spice while the soya pieces are well.

Instructions to make Soya Chunks Biryani:

  1. Take some Hot Water in a bowl and add salt. Take 1 Cup of Soya Chunks and Soak it in the hot water for 15 minutes till they soften and keep aside.
  2. In a Pressure cooker,Add oil or ghee and once it's hot add all the whole spices,green chilli. Saute for 30 secs. - Add sliced onions,ginger-garlic paste. Saute for 2-3 minutes until they turn soft and light brown in color – stir regularly.
  3. Add yoghurt /curd,turmeric powder,biryani powder, garam masala and give a quick stir. - Add soaked soya chunks(squeeze excess water) and cook for 1-2 minutes. Keep stirring else masala paste may get burnt.
  4. Add washed Basmati Rice,water,salt and give a stir. - Cover the cooker with lid and cook for two whistles on medium flame.
  5. After 10 mins Fluff up the rice gently. Garnish with coriander leaves. - Soya Biryani is ready.Serve with Papad and Raita or plain yoghurt.

Unlike the small soya chunks I buy regularly, this was the medium sized which I am handling for the first time. But after making this biryani, the result was perfect, so I am sure I will use this pack effectively. And this Biryani recipe, though I wanted to follow a supplementary book's recipe, I ended up making biryani in a way that I learnt. Run through water, drain, squeeze and keep it aside. Soya Chunks also know as meal maker is said to lower cholesterol levels, prevents heart diseases, reduces the risk of osteoporosis, controls hypertension, blood pressure, aids in weight loss etc.
