Steps to make Amla Chutney (Sweet, Spicy & Tangy):

  1. Wash Amla in a strainer. In a pan/utensil, bring 2 cups of water to boil. Put Amlas & switch off the flame and cover for 5 mins. Now Put Amlas in a strainer and when they become cold, slice them using knife and remove the seeds. Grind coarsely.
  2. Now heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, asafoetida(hing), curry leaves and let the seeds crackle.
  3. Then add amla paste, jaggery and salt. Combine well and cook for 2-3 mins till jaggery dissolves completely.
  4. Add turmeric powder, red chilli powder too and mix well. Cook for 3-4 mins on low flame till everything is combined well to a shiny chutney texture.
  5. Store in an airtight glass jar for a week.
