  6. Get 1 large bottle BBQ sauce (Sweet Baby Ray's)
  7. Prepare 2 carrots
  8. Get 2 shallots or 1 onion
  9. Take 10 garlic cloves

  11. Make ready 1 tbsp pepper
  12. Prepare 1 tbsp paprika
  13. Take 1 tbsp ginger
  14. Get 1 tbsp dried mustard

Instructions to make Orange Pulled pork:

  1. Chop veggies in large chunks.
  2. Combine all ingredients, except BBQ sauce, in slow cooker. You may need to add a few cups of water. Just make sure the pull pork is about halfway to 3/4 covered.
  3. Cook on low for 10 hours
  4. Remove pork and shred with forks. Leave pork set aside.
  5. Remove most of the liquid in slow cooker, leaving only about 1 cup, or more depending on how moist you like it.
  6. Add shredded pork and BBQ sauce back into the slow cooker, layers at a time. Mix. Keep warm and serve.

Flavour for cooking - top pork in slow cooker with onion, garlic and jalapeño, then pour over orange juice (the secret ingredient!). It sounds so simple, but with hours of slow cooking, mingling with the pork juices, it transforms into the most incredible braising broth that more than makes up for the absence of gallons of lard. Stir the broth mixture; add to vegetables. Add orange pieces and pineapple; heat through. These Instant Pot Ancho-Orange Pulled Pork "tacos" were delicious, I promise…even though I had to eat them on lettuce leaves.
