If you make apple crumble all the time, you may feel like varying it. - Mix ½ tsp mixed spice, cinnamon or allspice, or the scraped seeds of half a vanilla pod. Place the apples in a slow cooker, stir in the cornstarch mixture; toss with lemon juice. Sprinkle the walnut crumb topping on top. These useful spices can be used to cook so many different meals!

  1. Grease the liner of a 5 ltr slow cooker with butter.
