- Make ready large 1 or 2 sweet potatoes
These were a hit with my little fusspot. Wanting to wean her off those dried jerky chicken strips made in China I decided to try making my own treats. - Bake for 25 mins. Take out and turn over each tater wedge. Bake for additional 25 mins. Let cool and show your dog you love them! These are an all natural sweet treat with no preservatives. Taterz will last up to 2 weeks in a sealed container in the fridge.
Not only are they difficult to chew, but they can upset your dog's stomach and potentially cause intestinal blockage. After making and sharing two variations of natural dog treats for Basil (apple treat recipe here and carrot & banana treat recipe here), we had a few requests for some gluten and grain free natural variations. Sweet Potatoes are done when you can twist and flex them without the chew breaking apart or if you prefer a crunchy chew made from thinner slices when Tonight I am making my first dehydrator dog treats. I sliced sweet potato and then basted one side with blended liver. I can't wait to see the result.
